Ladies, please forgive me, because I love you all dearly, but there is one thing
above all that you females do that I cannot stand for the life of me, and that
is this:
When you encounter a friend or acquaintance, you screeeeaaaaaammmm at the top of
your freaking lungs and make just the biggest scene imaginable! I understand
friendships are emotional and deep, but for the love of God.....my ears, they
ring so....
I would probably have to say my sense of humor/open mind coupled with my ability
to make people laugh almost effortlessly...You'd be amazed how much people like
and appreciate someone who can honestly get them to giggle...
I am in every way a total night owl....I am never fully myself until the sun has
long gone down over the horizon. Only in the twilight do I truly come alive! ;-)
Look I understand and appreciate the love that the two establish and carry on
with throughout, but for me I would definetely change the outcome of Ai Yori
Aoshi in a heartbeat. Sure Aoi is a sweetheart and a darling one at that, but in
my mind I thought Tina ultimately deserved to have Kaoru in her life from then
on. They had more history, more love, and more similarities. C'est la vie I
suppose...
Three simple words got me hooked on anime/manga and all things Japanese: Neon
Genesis Evangelion. It came along at a time in my life when I wasn't sure who I
was or what I wanted. Something in it clicked perfectly, and I haven't looked
back since! Sugoi!
Oh wow now this is actually one hell of a hard question to ask of me....I mean
there's just so many to choose from aren't there? Oh gee ooh ummm
ohhhh......
Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo. There I said it. Don't ask me why, cuz I'm not telling!
;-)
Well, even though I owe it all to Evangelion for getting me hooked on anime in
the very first place, I will have to say that I had a somewhat mixed reaction
when it came to EOE. There are some aspects of it that I found to be superb,
such as the animation, the impressive scale of the finale, and of course for the
battle royale between Asuka and the 9 attacking EVAs....Oh man did that fight
kick ass or what? Unfortunately, I would have to agree that far too much was
thrown into it all at once, with little to no resolution whatsoever. Sometimes
having an ambiguous ending works extremely well, like it did in the film 2001: A
Space Odyssey. However, that film didn't have quite so many aspects happening
all at once to the point of overstimulation.
Another problem I had with it has a backstory to it. The creator received quite
a large amount of rather heated mail in regards to the final episodes of the
actual show. In my opinion, this created a kind of mean streak the creator has
towards the characters he created. The fact that essentially everybody, even the
most beloved characters in anime history, are rather bluntly and often violently
killed, almost as if the creator was wiping them out to spite the angry fans who
hated the finale of the show. It's almost too much to bear.
All in all I would definetely recommend viewing this film at least once just so
you can form your own opinion, as it certainly is a work of film that is unlike
any other I had seen before it. Love it or hate it, might as well give it a try!
I am a white man yes, but I admit that I LOVE to dance big time, and I have
several witnesses who can confirm that I actually CAN dance! Far too often you
see people who enjoy getting on the dance floor, true, but I cant tell you all
how painful it is to watch the majority of them stand in place and just bounce
up and down, and moving their arms side to side. You know what I'm talking
about!
I on the other hand let the music take control over my actions and I am proud to
say I can move with ease and I'm not ashamed to say it! Now, all together
now:
DANCE! When the funky get loose...I hit the floor and directly to the roof!
MOVE! Hit the nation with a groove....Gonna rock this place when the place gets
moving!
After all, it's not bragging if you can do it, right? ;-)
You see I knew there had to be something of a reasonable explanation for the
lack of the movies! Thanks very much for the enlightenment, and I will try to
get writing those reviews when I have the time and the drive! Thanks again for
taking the time for filling me in!
I am a firm believer that any piece of art should be viewed or appreciated in
its original form, so as a rule I tend to either avoid the English dubbed
versions of anime, or when I have no other choice, tend to feel fairly
underwhelmed by the talent of the English voice actors. Case in point:
Evangelion in Japanese is glorious...Evangelion in English is sometimes
embarrasing....
However, I know that few things in this life are absolute and concrete, and I am
the first to admit that I think the English dub of the anime Golden Boy actually
surpasses the quality of the Japanese version. Sure, some of the voices are less
than ideal, this is true. But quite frankly, whomever provided the English voice
for Kentaro deserves at least a pat on the back for just going all out and
injecting all the insane energy the character needed to come alive! Most English
dubs sound like they were being read out of a phonebook....this guy sounds like
he lept and crawled and danced all around the soundstage....Loved it!
I'd love to know if any of you support my choice on this, or if you think I'm a
freaking idiot! Or, perhaps there is another anime where you actually prefer
listening to the English version rather than its original Japanese! Don't be shy
now! ;-)
I hate to seem picky about little details, but I was very unahppy to find that I
am unable to post a review of the anime movie "Grave of the Fireflies"
because it does not appear to be one of the numerous titles that are on the list
on this site. I then realized that other films like "Akira" and
"Spirited Away" are absent from the list as well...
I'm not trying to tell you how to run your site by any means, and I'm guessing
that there could be a very sound reason why this is so, but it seems to me that
anime films should receive due recognition and discussion on this website. They
too have had their impacts on the whole genre, and to omit them seems wrong to
me. Perhaps you would be kind enough to inform me why they are being ignored, or
perhaps you could consider adding them to the list with all of the
rest...
The ultimate turn-off: selfish, close-minded, conservative, prude, shallow snob
with a love for toy dogs and the color pink who dots their "i"s with
little hearts.....OH God, I'm going to be sick...
This actually is a very complicated question for me in many ways, but I'm going
to break it down somewhat and see if that helps.
In my opinion, everyone has what I like to label as fears, and then they have
fears. To put it another way, I feel that we all have something that we truly
dread on a far deeper and philosophical scale, and then we have things that
scare us in the more immediate sense of the word. And with that, I give you my
FEARS/fears:
FEARS-I am terrified of missing out on a meaningful personal relationship
because I'm worried about the negative aspects, and in result ending up
spending my life with someone out of necessity and desperation rather than for
love and connection. I also dread my mind closing as I age despite myself. And
Im mortified of the though that I will one day my only primary drive will be for
money rather than for inspiration
fears-Don't ask me why, but two of my longest held fears have been towards
clowns and dolls. I think clowns are perhaps the creepiest things I've ever
encountered, and dolls, especially dolls with eyes that look right out, are just
plain unholy. And, I cannot stand needles in any shape or form. The mere thought
of them sends shivers down my spine with a bang! AHHHH!
There you have it.....Man oh man, I need to lie down now...lol.... ;-)
I would probably shriek out in alarm "Holy sh#t, I'm dead! AND IM IN
hell!!!" or something to that effect.....Hahaha I'm just kidding people.
After all there is humor to be found in everything, which I firmly
believe...
Anyway, to answer you truthfully, if this were a time travel situation where I
met him before wwii, then I would kill him, or at least attempt to. But I'm a
firm believer in leaving history as it has been, to prevent anything far worse
from taking place. And if I were to come face to face with him in some sort of
afterlife experience or whatever, I really think that I would move on. I have no
desire to hear his side of events or probe into his being any further than what
I know. There are far more interesting and worthwhile people to want to
encounter than a mass murderer who led a world into chaos. So many people are
fascinated by what drove him or what's the mystery of him. He was only full of
hatred, and I've never found hatred to be interesting, only destructive. Hope
this answers your question! ;-)
Drew Murray = Gaelic = meaning roughly "Man of the sea".....
"Charming, poised and sociable you need peace and harmony around you and
always seek to create a happy environment. Perceptive and with strong intuition
you are able to make sound judgements. You show great flexibility in attitude
being open and responsive to the needs and opinions of others. This ability
gives you potential for success in business dealing with the public. Your warm
personality and caring ways ensure you are loved by family and friends.
"
*cracks knuckles with a sly smile* Yep.....sums me up quite accurately I must
admit...
Every single time that any anime character sits down to eat something, no matter
how trivial or mundane that snack or meal may be, they always seem to yell out
that damn "Ikkitekkimasu!" or however it's spelled, you k now? Yes I
understand that's like saying "Bon Appetit!" before eating, but let's
face it people, how often do you hear others yell "Bon Appetit!" as
often as they do in these animes! Enough is enough, ga!
Okay everybody I can see that all of you would really like to know what your
Japanese names are, but I think the methods you are using are mediocre at
best!
Do yourselves a favor and go to this following hyperlink. I guarantee that not
only will you find your first name and middle name there, you might even get
lucky and find your last name as well (like I did):
Do I like cats? Sure, why not? As a rule, I tend to find most living things
fascinating and worth my interest every so often....
Do I love cats? No, I do not. I am a hardcore dog-person. There are some cats
who are just wonderful in every way, but the majority of them are too
independently centered to be lovable. If you treat it right, a dog loves
youunconditionally, and would do anything and everything that it can for you. A
cat appreciates you feeding it, and occassionally giving it a pet, but if you
were to die the next day it would just move on going about its business. So no I
don't hate cats, but I don't love them...
I seriously doubt that I would go out with or pursue any sort of meaningful or
lasting relationship with someone based purely on their looks. The occassional
mutual fling, of course, but a woman must have substance to last in my eyes. As
for an unattractive girl with a fantastic character, I would more than likely
wish to be very good friends, but probably not pursue it any deeper than
that.
Regardless of how shallow it may sound, physical attraction is a very important
factor in a romantic relationship, at least if you are younger in life like
myself. I would have to agree that a great personality is the essential key, but
sexiness is a very close second in my book....
I too am single at the moment, and actually quite comfortable with that as well.
To be truthful, I'm not sure I want to put up with the hassle and the
committment of one for the time being, or at least until I'm more sure of the
direction I want to take in life. However, I will say that if a relationship
were to arise, I would not be one to shun it or detest it. I suppose this is a
matter best left up to Fate, no? ;-)
That's a rather simple question to answer:
I would take her with me......
And I'd never leave her behind.....
;-)

Girls with glasses......Something about it just drives me freaking crazy! It's like an indicator that says "All of this, and brains too!" ;-)
I would probably have to say my sense of humor/open mind coupled with my ability to make people laugh almost effortlessly...You'd be amazed how much people like and appreciate someone who can honestly get them to giggle...
